Nobody panic! Nobody Panic… Don’t worry you guys, that kid from Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close didn’t exact his revenge on me or anything. So for all of my followers… all two of you, I’m sure you’ve noticed that I’ve not been posting anything for a while. Well, some things came up… nothing actually came up, that’s just the customary thing to say when you don’t do something. But I have good news! So that you guys don’t miss out on any cinematic enlightenment, Kaz and I have compiled short reviews for the dozen or so movies we’ve seen in the last few weeks into this single post. Tomorrow I’d like to post my picks for the Academy Awards, so be on the lookout for those. But after that, I promise you guys I’ll go back to my usual reviews. You just have to ask yourselves, what would you prefer? A good meal of only one thing, or a huge feast featuring small portions of a bunch of different things? Enjoy the feast dear readers. I’ve got some great flicks here, as well as some total crap fests. Let’s dig in, shall we…
Red Tails
Based on a great story, but not handled very well by George Lucas and his pals. Very cheesy, cliched dialogue and characters with some cool aerial battles.

Man on a Ledge
Surprisingly fun, but not much in the department of story.
Max’s Rating- C+
Chronicle
Just when I was starting to get sick of all of the found footage movies, this movie blows me away. Awesome characters, pacing, and one of the most original films I’ve seen in a while. Very creative and a hell of a lot of fun
Max’s Rating- A
Big Miracle
A boring movie about whales, with stupid characters that goes on, and on, and on… and on…
Max’s Rating- D
Safe House
C’mon, we all know that we’re gonna love Denzel Washington no matter what he does. Pretty cool flick, and a surprisingly good soundtrack
Max’s Rating- B-
The Secret World of Arrietty
I’m a huge fan of all of Ghibli’s films. Even though this one isn’t directed by Miyazaki, It’s beautiful, touching and I was captivated by it for the entirety of the film. No complaints, one of the better Ghibli films and that’s saying something
Max’s Rating- A
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengence
Much better than the first one (which isn’t saying much) but lacked the badassness that you’re looking for in a character like this. The effects are better, but fell short. It’s a shame
Max’s Rating- C
One for the Money
If it means anything, I didn’t actually pay for this movie. I deliberately did not follow the movie’s orders out of pure spite. …Ow, my brain…
Max’s Rating- D-
So there you have it chilluns. That ought to satisfy your cravings. I’ll be back tomorrow to discuss the Oscars, so until then…
Take it easy guys, Kaz bids you all a very fond farewell.
